Why It Matters to Us
When we started TIGRÉE, we made a promise — that every material we source and every partner we work with would meet rigorous standards of environmental responsibility. From the materials we source to the packaging we deliver, every decision we make is guided by one question: can we do this better, and more responsibly?
We were told it was too difficult. Too expensive. Too idealistic.
We disagreed.
And we didn't stop at paperwork.
Our founders personally visited our manufacturing partners to verify their environmental practices firsthand — including wastewater treatment facilities and on-site sustainability processes. Our suppliers shared their environmental compliance certifications directly with us, giving us the confidence that our standards are met at every level of production.
Our Materials
Our Commitment to Responsible Sourcing
Our commitment to environmental responsibility runs through every part of our products — from buttons to zippers. Before production begins, we verify that our materials carry one or more of the following internationally recognized, environmentally responsible certifications:
- LWG Certified Leather — Where leather is used, we source from tanneries certified by the Leather Working Group, supporting responsible water usage, waste management, and environmental compliance.
- GOTS Certified Organic Cotton — Where cotton is used, we prioritize materials certified to the Global Organic Textile Standard, supporting organic farming practices free from harmful chemicals.
- GRS Certified Recycled Materials — Where possible, we source Global Recycled Standard certified materials, giving new life to existing resources.
- OEKO-TEX 100 Standard & OEKO-TEX STeP — Some of our materials are certified under OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and/or OEKO-TEX STeP, supporting materials that are free from harmful substances and/or produced in socially and environmentally responsible facilities.
- SGS Tested & Verified — Some of our materials are certified through SGS, one of the world's leading independent inspection and certification companies, supporting product safety and quality standards.
Our Packaging
We believe sustainability doesn't stop at the product.
- Printed on 100% recycled paper
- Recycled content in all packaging
- Eco-processed inks
- Biodegradable hang tags
- FSC Certified Paper Boxes — Our product boxes are sourced from Packfactory, certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, ensuring materials come from responsibly managed forests.
- EcoEnclose Mailer Bags — Our shipping mailers are sourced from EcoEnclose, made from 100% recycled materials.
Our Promise
We are a small brand with big responsibilities. We will continue to raise our standards, seek better materials, and find more sustainable ways to bring TIGRÉE to you.
Beautiful. Functional. Sustainable. All three. No exceptions.
A Note on Natural Leather
We understand that in today's world, "eco-friendly" is often associated with avoiding animal products altogether. We respect that perspective. However, at TIGRÉE, we made a conscious and informed decision to use natural Cabretta lambskin leather for our gloves — and here is why.
Longevity — A well-crafted leather glove significantly outlasts synthetic alternatives, meaning less waste over time.
Biodegradability — Unlike plastic-based synthetic leathers, natural leather eventually returns to the earth.
Performance — For the serious golfer, the feel and precision of natural leather is simply irreplaceable.
Responsibility — We source exclusively from LWG certified tanneries, ensuring that every hide we use comes from suppliers committed to responsible environmental practices.
Our goal is not perfection — it is progress, transparency, and the courage to make better choices.
